"To pull this off in Chris' name and in her honor and to see the proceeds benefit such an important community asset such as The Grapevine makes all of the hard work by so many caring individuals more than worth while."
-- Doug Aborn.

"We are very grateful for the support of numerous local businesses and individuals whose generous sponsorships and contributions helped make the event a success. Chris was a very caring, giving person to all who touched her life; this is reflected by the diverse outpouring of support we've received."

Chris' Concert is a memorial music festival for our dear friend Christine Patten, who died unexpectedly and way too young. She was a woman who was passionate about helping others, an avid Harley rider, gifted artist, creative cook and adored by all who knew her.

Chris Patten worked tirelessly for the rights of children and families, always putting others' needs first before her own. She worked at a group home for troubled children in Derry NH for 8 years and volunteered at shelters and community kitchens. Like the beneficiary of this concert's proceeds, The Grapevine, Chris was dedicated to child welfare and family support.

Born in 1964, Chris always knew her own mind. The day after graduating magna cum laude from UNH in 1986 with a major in physiology, she went to work at Kuester House, the group home for troubled children.

The fact that she cared about people was illustrated by the time she devoted to helping one of the girls from Kuester House who had left the house -- she took her own time to help the young woman turn her life around. Years later this woman, hearing of Chris' passing, turned up at her services to give testimony to Chris' kindness.

In her spare time Chris loved to ride her Harley, taking trips to Daytona Beach, FL, Myrtle Beach, NC, Sturgis, SD, along with many, many group rides in this beautiful region she called home. At the Rynborn Blues Club, where she bartended for many years, she discovered a passion for the Blues and an admiration and support of local bands. Chris loved music!

It's hard to imagine that she's gone from us this soon. Her smile, hugs, sense of humor, friendship and compassion for others is sorely missed.

Your donation to Chris' Concert will help continue her legacy!
